As I watched The Bachelor Wedding unfold monday night along with millions of others, I wondered how they could possibly set up such a grand event with no back up plan. No plan B. That should NEVER be an option. It was forcasted to rain all day…and it did. Off and on, it rained. They attempted to start the wedding during what seemed to be a break in the bad weather but in the end, they couldn’t beat mother nature. Poor Jason and Molly were rained upon as they took their vows in front of family, friends and the entire world. They took it in stride and it was still a georgeous affair, but the issue still remains. No Plan B!

All I can say about this is…let the buyer beware! When deciding to have an outdoor wedding, please be sure to ask about your venues’ plan b policy. Will they have an adjacent ballroom or hall reserved for you to use in case of inclement weather? If that is not options, will they provide large tents to cover everyone? Do they expect for you to handle that issue yourself? These are questions you need to get answers to before you sign on the dotted line of your venue contract!
If you have hired a wedding planner or are getting married in a hotel setting, a plan b may already be in place. There’s no harm in double checking though.
Oh, and by the way, rain on your wedding day in some cultures is considered good luck, so if it does rain on your big day…take it as a sign of good luck and blessings on your new marriage!
Happy Planning!
